Kathy’s story is one of strength, unbelievable heart and a tireless drive. Kathy was once told that she would never find meaningful employment because of her disability. However, through sheer force of will and the support of the staff at McMan Kathy has made incredible strides towards independence. She has been hired permanently as a teaching assistant working with a young boy with a disability. This has absolutely been a dream come true for her.
Kathy juggles this amidst raising a family of three children, attending Norquest College and working at a daycare during summer break. With this new confidence she spent the past year completing renovations to her home. Kathy has truly found direction in her life, and she stands as a role model for anyone who has been told that they cannot fulfill their dreams.
