Calgary Region Programs:
“Triwood Place” Affordable Housing Apartment
Triwood Place is a 24-unit apartment housing model offering an affordable option
for young adults aged 18-24 years of age, who are aging out of the Child Welfare
system, or those individuals without Child Welfare status; who are experiencing
homelessness, or are at risk of homelessness and have exhausted other resources.
The individuals must be working or attending school, and have demonstrated their
ability to successfully live independently, but who struggle with homelessness
due to the affordability of housing.
This program is made possible through grant funding of the Government of Alberta,
Housing and Urban Affairs.

Foster Care
McMan's foster care programs support children and youth who require alternate
living arrangements for various periods of time. We provide safe, caring homes
and employ highly skilled and committed staff and foster parents, to ensure the
individual needs of the children are met, until a return home, adoption, a
kinship home or other permanent situations can be arranged.

Respite Care Connection
This program provides respite to biological, foster, or adoptive families who are parenting
high needs children and cannot get relief in other ways.

Kinship Program
This is a partnership contract with Hull to support kin or extended family
members who are caring for children or youth in need of a permanent home.

Day Care and After School Program
This program is a daycare program for 3 to 6 year olds and a before and after
school program for 6 to 12 year olds in a community in northeast Calgary.

Supported Independent Living/Youth Transitions to Adulthood
The Supported Independent Living /Youth Transitions to Adulthood programs,
assist youth in developing the skills needed to live successfully and
independently as adults. Education, employment and life/living skills are
developed through individual programming.

Manhattan Group Home
McMan's group care programs provide opportunities for youth to live in a safe
environment that provides the support and individual attention they require to
develop communications, life/living skills and positive relations with their
families, peers and other members of their communities.

Wrap Around Program
The Wrap Around Program supports young people in the Young Offender Center in the transition
back to their family and community.

Parent Child Assistance Program (PCAP)
PCAP provides long-term support to women who have a history of alcohol and drug abuse and are
at risk of giving birth to a child affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

Family Development Program
McMan’s family support programs help develop positive family relations, teach positive parenting,
living, communication and behaviour management strategies; and assist families in accessing
appropriate community resources.

Journeys Program
Journeys provides one to one support and education to families who are struggling with various issues in their lives that may include domestic violence, addictions, poverty, communication and how to parent in effective and positive ways.
We serve children, youth and parents who are struggling with various issues within the family. Families involved in this program are referred by the High River office of Calgary and Area Child and Family Services and other professionals in the communities of High River, Black Diamond, Okotoks, Turner Valley and surrounding areas.

Wellington Place
Wellington Place provides residential placements and support with education and
employment to homeless youth between the ages of 16 and 21.

Hope Homes and Hope Homes for Aboriginal Youth
Hope Homes provides room and board situations and one-to-one support to homeless
youth who are in the process of completing high school. Hope Homes and Hope
Homes for Aboriginal Youth provides supported independent living opportunities,
room and board situations, and one-to-one support to youth 16-24 years old,
experiencing, or at risk of homelessness. Youth must have made the decision to
make positive choices in their lives and be willing to attend school, obtain
employment, or attend a suitable day program.

Youth Alternative Program ( YAP )
YAP provides support to high risk youth who do not have Child Welfare status and
have exhausted all other resources. Issues that are addressed include
homelessness, conflict with the law, and addictions. Program Manager: Darlene

RESTART/KICKSTART
These crime prevention and leadership development programs provide structured
workshops, family work, youth work and positive recreation to at-risk children
(7–11) and youth (12–19) in order to prevent youth crime.

PSECA
McMan’s PSECA contract is for the Coordinator of Voluntary Services – a position
that works directly with youth involved in or at risk of involvement in
prostitution to identify and coordinate community services.

Milestones
Milestones is an in-home program that provides support to families who have a child with a
developmental disability and who receive funding through Family Support for Children with
Disabilities (FSCD). Families can access a Coordinator who will meet with the child and parents
to support them in increasing parenting skills, building extended support networks, and increasing
community inclusion.

FASD Maps
FASD Maps is a program for youth and young adults who may be, or are living with a diagnosis of
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Committed and highly skilled McMan staff provides coaching
and support for individuals to ensure that needs like healthcare, housing, education and employment
are met.

Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope is a program for youth and young adults who may be, or are living with a diagnosis
of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Committed and highly skilled McMan staff support youth
and young adults through 1-1 mentoring. The Mentor also promotes awareness and educates both the
public and professionals on the realities of FASD.

Youth and Adult Action Club (YAAC)
Youth and Adult Action Club (YAAC) is a peer support group for adults who may be, or are living
with a diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The group is open to adults who are
aged 16 and above and offers a safe place to explore FASD and understand how it impacts daily
living. The group sessions revolve around art and recreation activities and will take place in
the community.

High Fidelity Wraparound
High Fidelity Wraparound is a process that supports youth and families to put together a team
of people who help them identify their strengths, meet their needs and reach their goals. The
facilitator’s role is to support the youth and/or family, and their team throughout the
wraparound process.
