In partnership with Alberta Health Services, McMan operates a protective safe house for the PChAD (Protection of Children Abusing Drugs) program. PChAD provides parents/guardians the ability to apply to the court to authorize an apprehension and confinement order – for a period of not more than 5 days – when a child is using alcohol and/or drugs in a way that severely endangers him or her.
The protective safe house operated by McMan provides a safe, secure, drug-free environment that supports the child’s detoxification and transition to voluntary detoxification and treatment services in the community.
